The Trip That Exposed My Friend’s True Colors

I thought traveling with a friend would be fun. I imagined having someone to take cool pictures with, share meals, and create unforgettable memories. But instead, it turned into one of the worst experiences of my life.
Let me tell you why.
1. The Friend Who’s Always Late
Every morning, I woke up excited, ready to explore. But my friend? Still sleeping. I’d get ready, pack my bag, and even scroll through my phone for an hour, still no movement from him.
When he finally got up, he took forever in the shower, changed his outfit five times, and then said, “Relax lah, we’re on vacation.”
By the time we left, half the day was gone. The worst part? We missed out on things I really wanted to do.
2. The Friend Who’s Kedekut (Stingy AF)
Before the trip, we agreed to split everything, food, transport, and activities. But once we got there, he suddenly became the cheapest person alive.
Every meal, he’d say, “Eh, this one expensive lah. Let’s just eat cup noodles.”When it came to splitting the Grab fare, he’d “forget” to pay me back. And when we had to buy attraction tickets, he’d hesitate so much that I just gave up and paid for myself.
But the moment something was free, like food samples or a free entry spot, he was the first one in line!
3. The Friend Who Complains About Everything
The weather? “Too hot.”The food? “Not nice.”The place? “Too crowded.”The hotel? “Eh, got better one or not?”
Nothing was ever good enough. It reached a point where I stopped enjoying the trip because all I heard was negativity.
4. The Friend Who Doesn’t Plan, But Wants to Control Everything
Before the trip, I was the one booking the flights, researching places to go, and planning the itinerary. He? Nothing. No effort at all.
But when we got there? Suddenly, he had so many opinions. “Why are we going here? Let’s do something else.”Bro, you didn’t plan anything, but now you want to change everything?
5. The Moment I Knew I’d Never Travel With Him Again
The final straw was when I realized I was basically traveling alone, but with extra stress. He didn’t help plan, he didn’t want to spend, and he complained about everything. Instead of enjoying my trip, I spent most of it feeling frustrated.
That’s when I made a promise to myself. Never. Again.
Traveling with friends sounds fun, but only if they’re responsible, fair, and actually fun to be around. If your friend is kedekut, always late, or full of complaints, save yourself the stress and go solo. Trust me, your trip will be so much better.

This version makes it more personal, like a real-life experience people can relate to. What do you think? 😊
